I'm freshly back from my Summer holiday in Spain and already thinking of the wardrobe possibilities of the coming season. Autumn in London is wonderful, and it has an exciting atmosphere as we creep closer to Winter (yay coats!) and the thrill of Christmas.
I have to say, I prefer dressing for the colder seasons. I'm much more of a sweater and skirt girl than a cotton dress girl, so I can really get animated about possible purchases and digging out old favourites for the coming months.
Here's a little bit of inspiration for my Autumn vintage colour palette
A knit to add to my list from The Vintage Knitting Lady

Ooh delicious twinset loveliness! Source
J'adore the cuffs! Little jackets are an Autmun staple. Source
Jeans make the perfect Autumn casual outfit...especially when accesorised with pumpkins! Source
I can't tell you how much I love everything about this. It actually does funny things to me the more that I stare at it. Source

All the greens. Chunky knits. Source
Rust can be beautiful. Source
Tartan is wonderful in Autumn, and Pendleton does perfect plaid. Source

ReplyDeleteYou're on the road to fall brilliance and I can't wait to see what you come out with! Lovely! -Krystle! 1930slife.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised to hear that you don't feel well suited for summer clothes. Among all of your looks, I think You pull off that earthy Mediterranean look so well! Nevertheless, I'm with you; I like bundling up for colder weather!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful inspiration, I have a tough time with the changing of the seasons and the impending doom of -40* below weather. This is a lovely reminder to enjoy the moment.

i take them all ... where to order?
ReplyDeleteWonderfully lovely images! Fall hues are my favourite colour palette ever (and the one that, if I had to select the colours from just one season, I would say work best with my own colouring) and the moment the mercury even starts to contemplate dropping, I start pulling out and wearing the browns, mustards, pumpkins, burgundies, earthy greens, eggplants, and warm creams from my wardrobe like there's no tomorrow (and keep on sporting them more days than not until the start of December).

I have been absolutely drooling (sometimes literally, don't tell anyone) over two piece knit dresses like the one that you posted. The details on that particular set are fabulous. They tend to be a bit out of my budget, but I'm determined to find the right one before the season is over.
ReplyDeleteYou're not alone. Thank you for great inspiration. :)
ReplyDeleteSwoon! You have great taste! I wish I had all of those fashions. I will be getting out my wool skirts soon. I do love Fall!
ReplyDeleteYou are the opposite of me. I love summer dresses. My wardrobe is definitely lacking in the winter department. I have picked up some fall pieces lately though. My main problem is that I only own one vintage coat. It's an early 60's faux fur swing coat. I rarely wear it because I feel it is a bit too much to wear to my college classes.
ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan of autumn and the color palette it brings with it! I am also a huge fan of coats too! :) Your vintage inspiration is just perfect! I would seriously wear all of this!
