Horrockses and Lycra(Two words that should never be uttered in the same sentence again.)
Monday was a Bank holiday here in the UK, so we all get a day off work. Yay! Lucky for me as well, because it meant I got one extra day off before I started my new job.
The day started out a bit different for me. I've been making a concious effort at the moment to try and do some excercise, those that know me, know that I do absolutely nothing, but I've got to that age where I've suddenly become really aware that I'm quite unfit, and it takes alot longer now to lose any extra pounds. As I had absolutely no practical/sporty clothes in my wardrobe, my sister lent me some trainers and sports bras, and a couple of weeks ago I went for my first combination walk/jog/run. As suspected, I really didnt enjoy running very much, but I do enjoy walking at pace, so this morning I put on my lycra and went out for a long walk. It felt good, and my hair got very big in the heat, which is not a bad thing necessarily. Im not going to pretend that I'm a changed person and I'm going to do this 4 nights a week, because I know I won't, but a little at a time can't be a bad thing.
As I promised to record all my outfits for 7 days, I thought I would include this, (mostly as proof that I did it!), but I'm not going to give you outfit details, as I have no idea where these items are from!
The outfit I changed into for the rest of the day couldn't be more different! I realised that I hadn't worn this Horrockses frock yet this year so thought I would give it an airing before Summer is over! It's actually a little big for me, but still feels lovely to wear. I don't really wear so much of this full skirted floral look anymore, but its such an iconic mid-century look. I don't really know much about this Horrockses, I really should ask Liz, shouldn't I?!
