I would have had this post out sooner if it were not for the great Blogger crash of 2011....
Coming from rather humble roots, I can't say that punting is an activity that I have happened to try before. However, knowing that Oxford is a beautiful city, and rather liking the idea of sitting in a punt, moving lazily down a river while a man with a big stick propels me along, I was thrilled when The New Sheridan Club announced their annual punting and picnic trip.
Myself and Fleur travelled up on the train while the skies threatened rain, but we were lucky that it held off all day until literally the moment we stepped out the punt.
I wore my new to me, Horrockses dress which is simply a dream to wear and Fleur wore the prettiest floral yellow frock with added ruffley bits!
Here are some pretty pics and a silly video....
I absolutely loved punting and will definitely endeavour to do it again, but maybe next time I will go to Cambridge, just to show I'm not biased...
Also, me and the gals have started a Facebook page, Twitter and Tumblr for the Vintage Mafia as we have some projects lined up....its also just a good way to follow our collective silliness and vintage adventures ;-)

oh, how marvellous!!
ReplyDeleteFantabulous! xox
ReplyDeleteFun! And I wondered why your dress was so particularly fabulous and knowing it's Horrockses makes sense! I have the V&A book on Horrockses and I nearly cry at how beautiful all the dresses are ;]
