New Years Eve started very elegantly....
Fleur and myself met at Bethan's house to get poshed up to go to The Eve of Tomorrow Ball at Bloomsbury Ball Room, the same venue as The Chap party a few weeks ago.
Bethan lent me her beautiful black velvet dress with a sparkly crochet/lace neckline. This picture isn't very flattering as it accentuates my lack of height! You may also notice that I've had lots of my hair chopped off. Both Bethan and Fleur looked STUNNING in full length gowns. Fleur had her twinkly fairy lights adorning the top of her head again, as the theme of the party was a launch of a new Electric company. What a bright idea.
Then we got a bit silly...
My perpetual bad luck meant that on the way to the Tube Station the strap on my shoe broke...Noooo! So we had to get a Taxi and make a detour to my house. Grrr. When we finally arrived we managed to sweet talk the doorman though and jump the huuuge queue, so that was a plus! However, the ball itself was slightly disappointing. Of the 600 or so people there, about 90% of them were in fancy dress, which is fine for them, but we weren't really aware that we were going to a fancy dress party, and we thought that the 1930s theme would attract vintage dressers, but hey, we had fun though...
There was a distinct lack of good looking chaps
We left not long after 1am, and after a very squashy tube journey and a trip to an East London kebab shop, Bethan took us to meet her friends who were having a party in their flat. Well, that tiny flat was full of the best looking men we'd seen all night....but unfortunately every single one of them was gay. Oh well, beggars can't be choosers ;-) So we danced and karaoked to Pop and R'n'B (the modern kind) until the early hours when we made our way back to Bethan's for a sleepover. What a lark!
Happy New Year everyone!
